The 2027 Civic Sedan and Hatchback are reaching US dealerships now, with the Sport-L trim arriving by the end of the year from $28,495.
Honda says the 2027 Civic Sedan and Hatchback are arriving at US dealerships now. A new Sport-L trim joins the range by the end of the year, starting at $28,495, with leather upholstery, heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. The Sport Touring Hybrid adds S+ Shift, and the lineup starts at an MSRP of $24,995.
Honda announced on 8 October that the 2027 Civic Sedan and Hatchback are starting to reach US showrooms, and that a new Sport-L trim will join the range before the year is out. Honda calls the Civic America's best-selling compact car. It says the Sport-L brings features that were previously exclusive to hybrid models to a lower price point.
What the Sport-L adds
The Sport-L sits between the Civic Sport and the Sport Hybrid. It brings leather seats with power adjustment and heating up front, plus dual-zone climate control. It is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that Honda describes as refined and fuel-efficient, and it starts at $28,495. Honda says the Civic LX starts at $24,995, and the destination and handling charge adds $1,295. The Sport Hybrid starts at $29,695.
Honda describes the Civic as a gateway to the brand, and says it draws younger buyers, first-time buyers and multicultural customers in particular.
Hybrids and S+ Shift
The Civic Sport Touring Hybrid gains Honda S+ Shift, a drive mode first used on the 2026 Prelude. It simulates a performance transmission with virtual rev-matched downshifts and gear holding, along with enhanced engine sounds. Honda says hybrids now make up more than 30% of Civic sales this year. It adds that the Civic's average transaction price, hybrids included, is below the industry average for used vehicles.
Safety, sales and production
Every 2027 Civic has Honda Sensing, including collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning and road departure mitigation. All Sport models also get blind-spot monitoring with a rear cross traffic alert. Honda says the Civic has been America's best-selling compact car for decades, with more than 13 million sold. The hatchback is built in Greensburg, Indiana, and the sedan in Alliston, Ontario. Honda says the Civic is its longest-running automotive nameplate. The company also says electrified vehicles made up nearly a third of its total sales in 2025, and that the Civic is among its hybrid-electric models. Honda also says around 99% of the Honda vehicles sold in the US in 2025 were made in North America.
